in GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS!
The talented Forté Handbell Quartet of Colorado Springs will be back at Church in the Wildwood in Green Mountain Falls from October 11-12 for our annual weekend workshop and concert!
On Saturday, Forté leads a workshop for Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced ringers. On Sunday, the weekend closes with a community concert by Forté for everyone to enjoy. Bring your family and friends – no tickets are needed for the concert!

THE PATHS
We welcome ringers of all levels! Use the descriptions below to help you choose the path that is right for you.

Path A:
Building the Basics
A crash course in essential ringing skills for those new to handbells or returning after a long break. Learn basic ringing and damping, bell switches, passes, and basic weaves, along with music reading and application.
Path B:
Strengthening Your Skills
Targeted technique development for current ringers who want to refine and expand their abilities. Focus on ringing, stance, and motion, mallet technique, weaving and displacement, and multiple bells in hand.
Path C:
Ringing for the Joy of It
A music-filled track focused on playing through repertoire. All sessions will be focused on reading a variety of pieces with light technique review as need (a solid grasp of ringing is expected, but mastery is not required).

OUR STORY

A unique collaboration began in 2022, when Church in the Wildwood reached out to Forté to ask about developing and presenting a professional-level handbell workshop and concert in the Ute Pass region.
Church in the Wildwood worked with the Kirkpatrick Family Fund to secure sponsorship to keep the costs as low as possible for participants. Forté and CWW then worked together for about 6 months to plan the workshop, culminating in a fun and successful launch in the fall of 2022. We are now in our 4th year!

TESTIMONIALS
“The most valuable aspect of this workshop was hearing a variety of different things from the best handbell people I know. Seeing how they explain things while teaching, having a small enough event that everyone could get individual help”.
“I came expecting to learn a lot more about teaching than ringing. I was very surprised by how much I learned as a ringer as well. Forte is incredible and I learn something every time I’m in the same room with them.”
“The most valuable aspect of this workshop was learning how to make rehearsal MORE than just playing the notes but working on presentation and looking like you are moving together!”
